So I’ve had my first day of working in the cloud, it’s been interesting.
One thing I didn’t realize is how much I rely on Open Office. Who would’ve thought that someone who works in “Marketing” would spend so much time with their head buried in spreasheets.
I struggled through the day importing spreadsheets into google docs, but am having serious misgivings about working this way; it’s a bit like saying
“Hey Google, here’s a big-ass list of all our clients, keywords we’re targeting for them, and the link building strategies we’re implementing for each of them. Please open up a big can of whup-ass on us!”
I have mostly link building for clients on the books for today, so it should be fairly easy to stay in the cloud. More later in the week.
Oh, and if you haven’t pointed your twitter client at @dapimp yet, you’re missing out on a whole pile of daily nothingness!

I used some cloud based application during university and they were brilliant especially when it came to backing up work and using cloud based apps like Dropbox and Google app engine which is cloud based was perfect. I believe this is where the next battle with lie Google, Microsoft and Apple etc

It does sound a bit creepy when you say it like that.Here’s my confession officer Google. guilty as charged lol. No i think we worry to much about Google, keep to the terms of service and they have gigger problems to worry about – groupon,Facebook etc
Yeah, you can get lost in all the statistical data that goes with building websites and online marketing. Some days I have to force myself to quit looking at stats and go do something.
being in the cloud can be a great thing for many reasons. The important part is that it allows you to effectively get work done in a better way that without the cloud.

Putting up your strategies on Google Docs might just be a little too transparent, but all for the sake of being well-organized.

Yes the Google cloud, interesting indeed I just implemented the Google docs at a Non-profit I just started working at and I have to say it is a nice but still lacks some muscle.

I understand and I feel the same way even if I only have a site to manage. It really makes me anxious and tired thinking on how to optimize my site in Google; searching for proper keywords and all just to be in the top position. If only there’s an easy way to do all the stuff…which I think is not gonna happen.

I find Google docs slows my computer down quite a bit. Working on the computer does have its issues and staying focused and on task in one.

I would be inclined to keep a copy of your Google docs on your hard drive, using Google Chrome, just in case …

People don’t realize it also and they just think that’s the best place they can store their files. Of course, as back up copies of their files. I’ve been using Google, Yahoo and even Dropbox. Maybe it is time also that users should build their own cloud but it could take time to produce and use it. I just shared what I learned in a seminar about own cloud computing using an open source.

I don’t like to use Google Docs much, I find Excel/Open Office plus Dropbox does the job much better.
