Glad this dudes not in control of my PPC budget

It could be that they’re bidding on just one or two of the words you searched on as adwords can allow you a wildcard type search of specifying one or two words and then coming up for any phrase with those words in there.

I’ve got client sites who are in the same position, however if the ROI is good then I’d rather be up there for 2/12 chance of a click rather than a 1/12 chance

Hmmm… yeah you are right. Seems kind pointless. Could he get more traffic that way? I mean, the number one spot usually gets around 60% of the clicks… but what does a good ad get… 2-3%? Maybe he’s being greedy adn wants that extra 2% as well

I’ve seen this situation numerous times. With a site paying for a number one style slot as well as holding number one in the organic listings. I’ve seen it often enough that it just doesn’t seem a simple mistake on the advertiser’s part, but I really am not sure of the $OI factor. Seems as if Google, if they cared, wouldn’t display this way … anything goes if you pay us enough?

I am amazed. Either he is so far at the top, he can’t go any further, or he is just retarded. I would have to go with the later.

He is not the retarded one here Wade..is just a good converting keyword for him and maybe he wants to double the chances to get clicked.

LOL, that’s hilarious! I am also always amazed when this happens. But then again, is it really a bad thing to have more that one spot on the page? I guess it all depends on how much they’re paying for that sponsored link and if it’s still profitable. If it is, then its definitely worth it.

He’s probably making a mint on it. I bet he’s willing to pay to get more traffic on it. Nice kw phrase by the way.

Maybe is a great keyword for him or he has a huge Adwords campaign and he forgot to tweak it . Or he is just an amateur. Who knows…

I saw the same for one more site, I think it was the site of “Cute FTP”.

Wonder why they don’t see it.
