My google trends splogger experiment was a spectacular failure

Well, my post the other day where I dropped a hundred keywords from google trends in the post was, by any quantifiable measure, a spectacular failure, not gaining a single trackback link.

I think I need to do some more research to try to find keywords that sploggers are targeting before the next phase of the experiment.

Actually, to say the experiment was a complete failure would be selling myself short….

I now rank number one in Google for the term “Asian dudes gettin freaky“!

New competition meta keyword grabber

I’ve added a new tool to the tools section here at Pimp My Pagerank, it’s a meta keyword grabber.

Before anybody says that meta keywords are useless. I agree …. to a point.

You’re right, meta keywords make no difference to how search engines rank pages for a given keyword, but it’s a fact of life that many webmasters still use them.

So whilst knowing what meta keywords our competitors are using won’t help us rank for a given keyword, what it does do is give us a bit of an insight into the keywords they are targeting.

So use it, or not. It’s the Pimp My Pagerank meta keyword grabber.

What can we learn from Asian dudes gettin freaky?

My last post about Asian dudes gettin’ freaky produced an odd result. I actually garnered a few splogger backlinks from splogs scraping content related to Jennifer Lopez.

So in the spirit of research that lives within this blog, I thought I’d throw a hundred or so keywords from google trends into a post, and see how many trackbacks I got from by friends the sploggers.

I’ve used the trends from today, as the indication in some of the forums I read, sploggers are actually scraping the google trends results and creating automated blogs in real time.

Here’tis, let’s see how we go:

• Pic up  mpeg4 of Rihanna with 6 Chinese lovers
• Full mp3 with Christina Aguilera + 4 Chinese horse
• Kick up mpeg4 of Jennifer Lopez with 4 chinese boys
• Kick up pornos with Angelina Jolie + 6 korean guys

Happy Birthday to my Kidney!

Exactly one year ago, to the hour, I was just coming out of surgery having been the unexpected and grateful recipient of a desperately needed kidney transplant.

This new chance at life has meant an awful lot to me, my wife, and two wonderful boys. Not needing to go to dialysis four times a week, to have gigantic needles stuck in my arm and having to sit still for four hours while toxins were mechanically removed from my blood being not the least of them.

To my wonderful donor, whose decision to have their license stamped with the words “Organ Donor” has meant that my sons have a much greater chance of having a dad who lives long enough to watch them grow up, and my wife, less of a chance that she will be left to raise two sons on her own, words aren’t enough to express my gratitide.

To the family of my donor, my heart cries out for you in the darkeness of the grief that this anniversary of the passing of your loved one must bring. I know it will be little consolation to your grieving, but I want to thank you, not from myself, but from my sons, and my wife, for allowing their daddy and husband to be there when they need him now, and into the future.

Sincerely, I wish I was eloquent enough to express my thanks, but I’m not, so once again, if you’re up there keeping an eye on all the people who were lucky enough to be the beneficiaries of your amazingly generous act, this humble blogger says thankyou.
