I hope plenty people read this post, Stuart. It’s one of the more important ideas ever regarduing SEO and one of the ones most likely to be overlooked.

You’re 100% right that wastingtime deciding about arcane issues of keyword density are likely useless, but if you wnat to be found for any keyword, how will Google or any other search engine know that _unless_ it is on the pages you want found?

A friend recently helped a client move up somehting like 600 Google spaces in a wekk … the client wanted to be found for ‘her specialty” in ‘her town’ … but her site never mentioned ‘her town’ at all. Once the town name was edited into the copy (and the title tag), Google ‘magically’ figured out, “Oh, she wants to be found for ‘her town’ then, okey-doke, can do.” A real mystery this SEO stuff….

Keyword density is a COMPLETE waste of time.

You’re right though. You do need to have the kw on the page. lol

Thanks for that info. Yes we really need keywords with our site but don’t focus much on the density.. By the way nice blog you got there..
