These ridiculous laws, and the way they are interpreted by the courts, exist because no one pays attention in any country to what their legislators are doing until it is too late.

If bloggers and anyone else concerned about these stupid laws stopped just whining online actually took to the streets to protest, or became actively involved in the political process, the laws would be changed mighty
quick.

However, sometimes to affect real change we must stop buying into the notion that the “pen is mightier than the sword” or the “blog is mightier than the sword” mentality.

For all the ink that Thomas Paine and Voltaire spilled, the American and French Revolutions didn’t really start until the blood was spilled.

There’s a time for talk, and then there’s a time for action.

But in most countries in the world, yours included, even with the advent of the Internet, people only rely on media sources which conform to their own
orthodoxy or mindset.

I just offer a portal to sites which present news with a different bias.

If the site was about media in Iceland, would you react so strongly if it had a similar intro as :“Tired of the spin put on current events by the big media? For a different perspective, check out what the Icelandic media has to report. ” ?

An Australian brainwashed by the Aussie media is just as Brainwashed as a Chinese media consumer.

Both think they have a monopoly on truth based on the info they are spoon-fed by their governments and big media.

Neither wants to admit that all they think they know is based on what someone tells them to believe.

They close their minds to any other point of view than the one they have been programmed to accept.

It is possible to present information without actually agreeing with it.
