It’s been fun

Posted by stuart as Uncategorized

Just a quick note to let those of you who still wander past here from time to time (don’t let the tumbleweeds hit you in the ass!) that I’m calling it a day on this blog.

I’ve had a great time here, and have loved every minute of the time I’ve spent here, and the friends I’ve made.

Thank you to all of you who were kind enough to leave comments here, and interact with me, to encourage me, to tell me my ideas were stupid, and to celebrate the odd success I’d had in this online money making world.

I’ll still keep a few of you in my reader, and will drop by from time to time to your blogs to see how you’re going, but I won’t be writing here anymore.

So what will become of this blog?

I don’t know. Maybe I’ll leave it here for posterity, maybe I’ll use the domain name for something else, or maybe I’ll just let it slide slowly into oblivion as so many good things in life seem to……

So why am I turning my back on something I obviously enjoyed so much?

A multitude of reasons. Since my kidney transplant in February, my health hasn’t been as consistently good as I would have liked. and I haven’t been able to keep up the regular posting that is expected of a blog of any quality. I am still going to try to turn a buck online, but my focus has to be on things which provide regular, consistent financial rewards. I’ve made some good pocket money online, and will continue to do so, but I just don’t feel the need to tell everyone how and why anymore. If I’m honest with myself, I have to admit that you’re not reading anything here which you’re couldn’t get at any one of a number of other blogs.

So what will I be doing with myself from hereon in?

The graphic designer I do some website coding for has increased the amount of work he is giving me. Whilst not enough for a full time job yet, it’s providing regular, solid income that I haven’t managed to attain in the online world. Given a choice between making $40 and hour doing that work, and $100 a month gambling on AdSense / Affiliates, I think the choice is obvious.

As my health improves, I’ll be looking to rejoin the workforce in some capacity. I’ll probably go back into the printing industry in some capacity, although I’m sure it will be difficult to find work considering I’ve been a stay at home dad for most of the last five years.

So in closing, with a tinge of sadness, coloured with happiness at the thought that someone, somewhere, might have learned something, had a laugh, or avoided a mistake I’d made through reading my little corner of the intarweb over the last 18 months, I bid you, my friends, adieu…………..

I think I’ve now re-written this post 3 times (I’m so bummed!). I just want to say that I’m sad that you’re leaving this space… like everyone here has echoed… you’re definitely one of the better bloggers in this space and I always looked forward to your next post.

I really do hope your health gets better and you can get back into what you love to do. The fact that you can make a more steady income - can’t blame you with that.

But I will still miss your writings.

Don’t be a stranger! Take care of yourself, good luck with everything you do Stu :)

Man, I am actually genuinely sad. I really have been reading your blog for a long, long time, and like Tom from Nothing-Ventured, I can’t believe the blogging is over.

I wish you a healthy recovery, and hope that you can still drop by now and then, because we would all love updates! Good luck buddy ;)

Life moves on, right? Good luck with everything, Stu!

Well, Stu, I can honestly say that I’m sorry to see you ‘go’ and hope that this isn’t the last we’ll see of you.

Hope your health and income opportunities improve and that you’ll not give up completely on the idea of earning online.

Get healthy buddy. Who knows maybe you will change your mind after you recuperate for a while and move on to other things.

Good luck in the future.

I would advise leaving the blog up, you never know when you might want to pick it up again…

I let my blog slide off for a while, but I left it up and I’m glad I did because I’m posting again.

Sorry to see you go. Take care. Best wishes to you!

:)

Take care of yourself and God Bless!

Best wishes in all your future endeavors.

Best of luck man.
