Getting angrier by the minute
I’ve been doing a bit of thinking this morning about my last post, about payperpost and disclosure, and have been getting angrier and angrier.
Those who have been reading this blog for a while will know that I fought pretty hard over my right to use paid posts anywhere I like. I battled over the disclosure issue, and lost readers over the issue.
Now payperpost has shat on those who battled for them from a great height. I wrote in my previous post about payperpost re-writing history, suggesting that they had always encouraged disclosure, now I’ve managed to find my post on the issue when payperpost first started up. In part, it said this:
†Posts must not include any statements or titles indicating that the Posts are being made by a PayPerPost Bloggerâ€
Now there was a lot of discussion about disclosure, and the credibility of bloggers writing for the money when payperpost was launched, and it seems that these fears have been borne out.
If I accept the payperpost terms of use, I can write a post about a product, be paid for it, but not disclose the fact that I am being paid.
I’m not sure this is a good thing. Do you?
Now we get payperpost telling us that they’ve always encouraged disclosure? Gimme a furking break!

I think with the government breathing down their necks they’re backpeddling as fast as they can. I’m not sure what to think of the situation right now. But I’m very curious to see where the hell it goes.
