Charity blogging

On the heels of Darren’s successful Blogging For Chickens, I’m pondering the idea of bloggers untiting for a worthy cause.

Does anybody know of anywhere where bloggers with a philanthropic bent congregate? Is there such a place?

If no such place exists, would other bloggers be interested in being involved in something like this. I’m imagining something like what went down at problogger, but more of a permanent thing. Imagine if 1,000 entrepreneurial bloggers chose to make an automatic payment of 1% of their online income per month to a fund which paid out money to charities. That’s like…..um…..you do the maths.

What might be some worthy causes? Would people be interested in being involved in something like this? What would be involved?
Of course, if something like this already exists, I’d appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
