Pay Per Post disclosure not allowed?

Posted by stuart as , , , ,

I thought I’d wander over to payperpost.com again this morning, to see how things were progressing, and to see if they’d decided to open their program up to non-US residents.

They haven’t.

I then decided to go have a look at their terms of use, to see if there was anything in there about when they might open up for those of us in the “rest of the world”. There was nothing there about this, but I did discover something interesting:

” Posts must not include any statements or titles indicating that the Posts are being made by a PayPerPost Blogger”

Now there was a lot of discussion about disclosure, and the credibility of bloggers writing for the money when payperpost was launched, and it seems that these fears have been borne out.

If I accept the payperpost terms of use, I can write a post about a product, be paid for it, but not disclose the fact that I am being paid.

I’m not sure this is a good thing. Do you?
